Court adjourns customer’s suits against GTB, Airtel

   
A Kaduna State High Court has adjourned till July 25 hearing on a fraud case brought by one Kayode Oluwole against Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB)
The plaintiff had dragged GTB to Kaduna State High Court 10 presided over by Justice Bashir Sukola, seeking N20 million damages for alleged fraudulent withdrawal of N35,136 from his account with the bank between July 22 and August 1, 2016 without his awareness or consent.
Oluwole also filed a case against Airtel Network Limited in the same court, seeking N20 million damages from the mobile network operators for blocking the line which he registered with the  bank without reason, thus making it impossible for him to receive alert on the withdrawals from the bank account.
When the two suits came up for hearing on Tuesday, Justice Sukola, after listening to the plaintiff and defendants adjourned the case against GTB till July 25 for the two parties to try and reach amicable settlement on the matter and avail the court with the report of the settlement.
The judge also adjourned the case against Airtel Network Limited till September 22 for pre-trial conference to enable the two parties resolve contentious issues and see if the case can be settled amicably by both parties before returning to court.
