women to be careful of what they wish for and
not be fooled by the glamour of others'
relationship.
She also reacted to a statement made by Davido
who claimed that he has been dating Chioma for
five years. She noted that he had publicly
disrespected her by flaunting other women on
social media.
Read below:
"All over my timeline... it’s Davido, Chioma and Porsche of
45 million that I see.
Most of the girls are tapping into the blessing while the guys
are shouting “Chioma cooks day and night for David... but
you don’t want to cook for your guy”. I’m just here
wondering if we are all processing the same information.
Davido says he has been dating Chioma for 5 years. Within
the 5 years, he got 2 different women pregnant... had 2
children by them... had other girlfriends he flaunted
openly... suddenly all these things don’t matter any more
and everyone is shouting ASSURANCE... GOALS!!!
What goals exactly? To be openly disrespected for years
while in a relationship, and suddenly he decides the love is
driving him crazy? To keep your relationship low key for
years while flaunting other girls and one day he realizes his
mistake and decides he wants to give you lifetime assurance
and a Porsche??? What exactly is the goals here??
Someone posted “Dear girls, it’s better to be the main chick
than the side chick. After 2 baby mamas, Davido still came
back to his girl. Love is real.” Really??? Because of Porsche,
exotic trips and shopping? Suffering has confused all of us
in this country.
To all the girls looking for their own Davido, be careful
what you wish for. If this is the precedent you want for
your relationship I applaud you. We must be mindful of the
type of prayers we say.
Your faithful boyfriend that sends you 10k when you need it
is goals. Don’t be deceived by the glitz and glamour. What is
the context? What is the content?
May we not crave relationships that will break our hearts
and belief in humanity just for some temporary glamour. To
all those who are in real love relationships... you all are the
MVP!!! Keep winning. Love over everything."

Codeine Abuse: Senate President, Bukola Saraki says,

'It's everybody’s problem'
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, in a statement by his Chief
Press Secretary, Sanni Onogu, Saraki stated that

documentaries like ‘Sweet Sweet Codeine’ are real-life
attestations on the need for Nigeria to take its drug abuse
problem more seriously.
“The widespread nature of this substance abuse problem in
Nigeria is why the Senate convened the stakeholder
Roundtable in Kano in December. Even though I have been
working on this issue for a few months now, watching the
BBC documentary was another eye-opener. Nigerians can
now see that if care is not taken, we could be sitting on a
catastrophe. We cannot all just fold our arms and expect this
issue to fix itself. This is everybody’s problem" the President
of the Senate said.
He continues to say, 'as things stand, following the
Roundtable on Drug Abuse that held in Kano in December
2017, we have already developed a draft Legislative
framework for the control of narcotics and psychotropic
substances and the provision of mental health and substance
abuse services in Nigeria. With the Drug Control Bill that we
are set to introduce, the mandate of the National Drug Law
Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the National Agency for
Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) and other
relevant law enforcement and other regulatory bodies will be
strengthened to eradicate the illicit production, and trafficking
of controlled substances".
Bukola Saraki
@bukolasaraki
This #codeine addiction issue won't fix itself. It is
everybody's problem.
The #DrugControlBill and the #MentalHealthBill that
@NGRSenate is set to introduce will help to curb the
illicit trafficking of controlled substances.

163 216 people are talking about this
“While the Mental Health Bill will ensure the availability of
mental health and substance abuse services in every state, as
well as guarantee the enforcement of minimum standards of
care for people with mental health disorders. This is because,
we cannot continue like this. We cannot continue to have one
psychiatrist for every 1.6million Nigerians and expect this
substance abuse problem to go away. This legislative
framework that we are preparing recognizes the low number
of mental health practitioners in the country, and works to
rectify that problem by ensuring that quality mental health and
substance abuse services are available for this underserved
segment of the population.”

Nigerian youths need to maximise opportunities in Agriculture - President Buhari

President Buhari has reiterated his call on youths in Nigeria
to seize opportunities in agriculture, a sector of the
economy he said is already proving to be the bedrock of the
nation’s new economy.
Speaking on Monday at Blair House, Washington DC after his
White House engagements with President Donald Trump,
the President, at a meeting the Chief Executive Officers of
six American agricultural companies and their Nigerian
counterparts including Aliko Dangote and John
Coumantaros, again lamented the challenges of the
country’s youth bulge, with “sixty per cent of the population
below 30 years.”
He said the country must help the young people to plan their
future and urged them to explore opportunities easily
accessible in agriculture because, as he said, “agriculture is
the future.” While stressing that planning in Nigeria must
take into consideration the factors of climate and a bulging
youth population, President Buhari also promised the
support of his administration in the promotion of skill
development, innovation and entrepreneurship among the
young population.
According to him, “We realized, rather belatedly that we
ought to have been investing in agriculture. We are now
aiming at food security because of our large population. Our
youths, the ones who have gone to school and even those
that have not, should go to the farm, to earn respect for
themselves. Agriculture is providing jobs for millions of our
citizens and we are doing well towards the attainment of
food security and jobs. The media may not appreciate the
work we are doing but we will shock them by the success
we are recording.”
President Buhari welcomed the several investment
proposals being put in place by the Americans and their
Nigerian counterparts. Among those brought up for
discussions were the three million tons fertilizer by Dangote,
the largest in Africa coming on stream in July, to be
followed by another one to produce 1.4 million tons of the
commodity; a large-scale modern seed production
company, and weed and pest management and chemicals
products companies by the Americans.
Similarly, the Burger King food chain with plans to integrate
local farmers in livestock production; the Heinz tomatoes
production, with backward integration of Nigerian tomato
farmers; and another company coming to set up a local
branch to facilitate merchandising of commodities, in effect
establishing a link between the Nigerian producers and the
global market.
A tractor manufacturing company, John Deer, also unfolded
a plan for an assembly plant to produce 10,000 tractors in
four years in Nigeria. They will all come with jobs for
Nigerians. In a second business meeting same day,
President Buhari brought together Nigerian businessmen
and their American counterparts from the U.S Chamber of
Commerce and the Corporate Council on Africa, (CCA.)
The U.S Chamber, on behalf of its three million member-
companies which included General Electric, Chevron,
Proctor and Gamble and Boeing aircraft manufacturers,
expressed happiness with improved security in the Niger
Delta, reforms in the economy leading to ease in doing
business, and the war the administration is waging against
corruption.
Several of the oncoming plans were disclosed to the
President who demanded concrete plans and an aggressive
timetable for their actualization. He envisaged that the
investment schemes will lead to a lot of new opportunities
for the Nigerian youth.

Jackie Chan’s lesbian daughter is allegedly homeless and living under the bridge because her parents are 'homophobic' (Video)

Superstar actor, Jackie Chan ’s estranged daughter, Etta Ng ,
has claimed she is homeless and living on the street of
Hong Kong with her girlfriend Andi Autumn.
18-year-old Ng, and her girlfriend Andi Autumn posted a
short video on YouTube, in which she said she has been
living under a bridge and blamed her "homophobic parents"
for her current struggle.
"We've been homeless for a month due to homophobic
parents. We pretty much slept under a bridge, and other
things. We've gone to the police, we've gone to the
hospitals, the food banks, the LGBTQ community shelters
and all of them just don't give a s***," Ng said.
"We don't know what to do at this point. We just want to let
people know what's going on because at this point it seems
ridiculous that no one can help. I don't understand," she
added
Ng is Chan's daughter with former beauty queen Elaine Ng,
who the actor welcomed while married to his current wife.
Reacting to the homophobic claims made by her daughter,
Elaine denied the accusation and said she needs to find a
job.
She told Coconuts website, "I feel that if they have no
money, they should go find work. They shouldn't film a clip
telling others they are broke and who Etta's father is. People
all over the world work hard and don't rely on someone
else's fame to get money," she said.
Meanwhile, Jackie Chan is yet to react to his daughter's
homophobic claims.

FG Bans production of Cough Syrups containing codeine in Nigeria

Following the inreasing rate of its gross abuse, the Federal
Ministry of Health has directed the National Agency for
Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to ban
with immediate effect further issuance of permits for the
importation of codeine as active pharmaceutical ingredient
for cough preparations.
The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole made this
known in Abuja today May 1st. According to Adewole, the
directive became necessary due to the gross abuse codeine
usage has been subjected to in the country, especially in
Northern Nigeria.
In its stead, the minister said codeine containing cough
syrups should be replaced with dextromethorphan which is
less addictive.
He also directed the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria,
(PCN) and NAFDAC to supervise the recall for labelling and
audit trailing of all codeine containing cough syrups in the
country, while he has also banned sales of Codeine
containing cough syrup without prescription across the
country.

Security challenge Rivers state blamed FG

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has blamed Nigeria’s

security challenge on political interference by the Federal
Government. Wike said this on Monday when he received
participants of Senior Executive Study Group Three from the
National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS,
Kuru at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
“What we have seen in most cases is that security lapses are
a result of political interference,” he said. He claimed that
insecurity is fallout of the political interference of the
Federal Government in the operation of security agencies.
The governor added that Rivers State is working hard to
handle security challenges adding that Rivers State residents
are peace makers. Commenting on the Neighbourhood
Safety Corps, Governor Wike said that the agency was
established to complement the work of Federal Security
Agencies.
He added that the organisation was fashioned in line with
an existing model in Lagos State under the leadership of
respected retired military, police and paramilitary senior
officers.
