Saraki leads 10-man delegation to Buhari over alleged attempt by IGP to implicate him

Bukola Saraki is set to lead a 10-man delegation to
President Muhammadu Buhari over alleged attempt to
implicate him
- The Senate president said the Kwara state Governor
Abdulfatai Ahmed brought his attention to an alleged
plan by the IG of police to force some suspects to
implicate him in a criminal matter
- Members of the delegation are the leader of the
Senate Ahmed Lawan, the chief whip Olusola Adeyeye,
minority whip Godswill Akpabio
The president of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki is
set to lead a 10-man delegation to President
Muhammadu Buhari over alleged attempt to
implicate him in a criminal matter.
This followed an explanation on the matter by
Saraki at plenary on Wednesday.
Members of the delegation are the leader of the
Senate Ahmed Lawan, the chief whip Olusola
Adeyeye, minority whip Godswill Akpabio, Sen.
Oluremi Tinubu (APC-Lagos) and Sen. Raji Rasaki
(APC-Ekiti).
Others are Senator Aliyu Wammakko (APC-
Sokoto), Senator Sam Egwu (PDP-Ebonyi),
Senator Danjuma Goje (APC-Gombe) and Senator
Abdullahi Adamu (APC-Nasarawa).
While addressing his colleagues, Saraki said the
Kwara state governor Abdulfatai Ahmed brought
his attention to an alleged plan by the inspector
general of police, Ibrahim Idris, to force some
suspects to implicate him in a criminal matter.
He said the governor informed him that the
suspects who were arrested in Kwara for cultism
were allegedly ordered by Idris to Abuja to force
them into altering their statements.
“According to information available to the governor, the
inspector general of police directed the commissioner of
police in Kwara state to immediately transfer the men to
the force headquarters
” The plan as the governor was made to understand is that
under duress, the suspects would be made to alter the
statements already made in Ilorin.
“They will be made to implicate the Kwara state
government and myself in particular in their new statement.
” This plot is part of the strategy by the IGP to settle scores
over the declaration by this honourable chamber that he is
not qualified and competent to hold any public office.
“In my view, this plot is an act of desperation, blackmail,
intimidation, abuse of office and crude tactics aimed at
turning our country into a police state.
“The tactics is aimed at turning the country into a state
where top officials cannot be made to obey the law, follow
due process and subject themselves to constituted
authorities.
“I want to bring this dangerous development to the
attention of all of you, the entire country and the
international community so that you can be aware of the
level of impunity in our country and the danger it
constitutes to our democracy,” he said.
Contributing, the deputy leader of the Senate,
Bala Na’ Allah said the matter should be treated
with the seriousness it deserved.
He said for the matter to come from the chief
security officer of Kwara state, it should be taken
seriously.
He called for the setting up of a committee to
investigate the matter, adding that: “In view of
the fact that Saraki is involved he should step
down for Ekweremadu to preside on setting up of
the committee.”
Senator Gbenga Ashafa-(APC-Lagos) said the
committee should comprise of members of the
Senate and the House of Representatives in view
of the fact that Saraki is the chairman of the
national assembly.
The chief whip, Olusola Adeyeye, said the
committee should comprise of seven lawmakers
from each of the six geopolitical zones
He added that the House of Representatives
should be intimated on the development and
advised to do same if they so wished.
Senator Sam Anyanwu(PDP-Imo) lamented the
fact that lawmakers were being intimidated from
carrying out their responsibilities.
He said : “We should not trivialise this matter. If it is
happening to Saraki then we are all in trouble.
” Many of us have been earmarked. It is a calculated
attempt to ridicule the person and integrity of the Senate
President and the national assembly as an institution.”
Senator Kabiru Marafa(APC-Zamfara) suggested
that rather than setting up a committee to
investigate the matter, the committee should visit
President Buhari to inform him of the
development.
“There is already a problem between us and the IGP, so I
suggest that we raise a committee as suggested by others
but instead of investigating they should sit down with
President Buhari to discuss the matter.
“This is not a joke as it can turn democracy upsidedown.
“If we investigate, where are we to take our resolutions to.
They might end up inviting the IG and what if he still
doesn’t appear again,” he said.
Marafa said visiting the president on the matter
and other related matters had become necessary
as it was obvious that he was not in the picture
of some of the problems lawmakers were facing.
Senator Emmanuel Bwacha(PDP-Taraba) decried
increased spate of intimidation of lawmakers.
He also suggested that the matter should be
taken to the president, stressing that,” he ought
to know that our democracy is collapsing. “
Adegokblog .com had reported that the Senate president,
Bukola Saraki, alleged that there is an ongoing
plot by the Inspector General of Police (IGP),
Ibrahim Idris, to implicate him in a crime.
Saraki, who made the allegation on Wednesday,
May 16, during plenary.

What words to use when toasting a lady?
Also, you can use sweet words to toast a lady on
the internet. Some of them can be used offline.

1. Each girl reacts in an own way when she
receives the message from the man. But there
are some tricks, which work for most of the
girls well.
2. Don't make grammatical mistakes. If you send
the message, be convinced that you use the
correct grammatical rules. Don't think that it
is unimportant for the girl to whom you write.
Try to avoid reductions and write without
mistakes as girls not really love illiterate
texts.
3. Be always focused on contents of the
message.
4. Learn what is pleasant to her. All people are
different. Therefore it is important to learn
what is pleasant to your lady. If you seek for
the development of intimate relations, it is
very important for you to know what excites
her.
5. Draw images in her imagination. Use words so
that she could present in her mind that you
want to show her. Instead of the word touch,
for example, use a soft touch. Anyway, the
adverb or an adjective will never be excess.
6. Tease her with the messages Girls love it, so
use it. Play and continue to tease the
girlfriend. Don't allow her to miss and be not
boring.
7. Don't forget to maintain her interest. Always
finish your phrases so that she could manage
to tell anything in answer irrespective of what
she wants. If she asks how you have spent the
day, be not limited to something banal like
'Everything is OK'. It will hardly be pleasant
to her. You risk being left without the answer.
8. Ask questions correctly. Pictures have to
appear in her mind. Ask her about intimate
things. For example, 'What are you wearing
now' or 'how soft your underwear is?' As such
questions generate the pictures in her mind,
you can be sure that she will begin to send
you response messages.
9. SMS work well when she goes to bed.
Remember that at night the girl that you want
usually goes to bed, or perhaps is even going
to sleep. So send her messages when she is
already in a bed. Any bed reminds about love
caress. It can excite and force her to think
about you beginning to flirt with her when
she goes to bed.
10. Be not afraid to flirt with her. You shouldn't
be afraid to ask her questions when you flirt
with her. If at the same time anything doesn't
develop, you have to calm her, saying that all
that you have told, was just a joke. At last,
when she will begin to enjoy, she will begin to
respond to your messages more freely.
As you see, it’s not very hard to toast the girl
with words. All you need is to be gentle and
kind, and not to forget about the sense of humor.
Remember that any word has a meaning.

Rested Lionel Messi left out of Barcelona's trip to Levante

Lionel Messi has not been included in Barcelona's squad for
Sunday's match away against Levante as the Catalan side look
to take a step closer to an unbeaten season.
Barca can stretch their unbeaten run to 44 games in La Liga if
they avoid defeat in Valencia, with 37 of those games coming
in the current campaign.
They would then only need to navigate next weekend's home
game against Real Sociedad to become the first-ever side to
end a 38-game season in Spain's top flight unbeaten.
However, they will travel to the Ciutat de Valencia stadium
without talisman Messi, who has been given a rest by coach
Ernesto Valverde, presumably with the World Cup in mind.
Valverde previously had to tell Argentina that the country
doesn't need to worry about Messi's fitness going into this
summer's tournament in Russia after the forward picked up a
hamstring injury in April.
Messi had been expected to feature against Levante as he
looks to wrap up a fifth European Golden Shoe. With 34 league
goals this season, he is three ahead of his nearest challenger,
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, so is unlikely to be caught
regardless.
Valverde, meanwhile, said he wants his side to make history
by going the whole season unbeaten. Real Madrid and Athletic
Bilbao managed unbeaten seasons in 1932 and 1930
respectively, but the length of the championship was only 18
games in those days.
"In principle, that's never been an objective for us, but now that
we have won the league we need new motivations and that's a
very clear one," Valverde said in a news conference. "It's been
a long time since anyone did it and we're close to achieving it
this year. Our main objectives are already completed, so let's
see if we can now go unbeaten. It would be historic."
As attention in the local press turns to the summer transfer
window, Valverde insisted the only thing he is focused on is
the Levante game. The Valencia-based side have secured their
top-flight status for another season courtesy of picking up 23
points in their last 10 matches, including winning their last four
games.
But the Barca coach admitted there have already been some
talks with regards to finalising the squad for what will be his
second season in charge.
"We have touched on what we want to do this summer
slightly," he said. "But we want to focus on the end of the
season first. If we were thinking about players for next season,
I think we would lose that competitive edge. It's a distraction."
Valverde said the club will look within to replace the departing
Andres Iniesta at first, with B team midfielder Carles Alena
likely to be promoted to the first team.
"The first idea is to look at what we have here: [Philippe]
Coutinho's good in [Iniesta's] position and there are other
players, too, like Alena from the B team," he said. "I think it's
more or less clear [Alena will be promoted], he's been training
with us all season. We will see later [if more come up with
him]. There's Oriol Busquets, but we will need to see how he
is after his injury.
"We always have to be following the [transfer] market, too. We
lost an important player last year [Neymar] in a surprising
manner and we had to improvise. Things were turned inside
out.
"With Andres, we know he's leaving, so we have some time to
plan. Some players are so special and unique, though, that it
would be a lie to say you won't miss them. Of course we will
miss him, so we need to find another way of balancing the
team without him."
As well as Messi, Barca will be without Sergi Roberto, Samuel
Umtiti and Aleix Vidal. Sergi Roberto is serving the second
game of a four-match ban following his Clasico dismissal, a
match which also saw Umtiti injure his knee.
Winger Vidal, meanwhile, has been left out for the third
consecutive league fixture and is expected to be one of the
players available for transfer this summer.

What is fasting and important or forbidding of it

PART 2
Welcome back to ours topic fast this is part 2 of it

Befor we discouse about types of fast their must source for something or history befor that some scholar tolk about it
Fasting is the willing abstinence or reduction from some or
all food, drink , or both, for a period of time. An absolute
fast or dry fasting is normally defined as abstinence from all
food and liquid for a defined period, usually 24 hours, or a
number of days. Water fasting refers to abstinence from all
food and drink except water, but black coffee and tea may
be consumed. Other fasts may be partially restrictive,
limiting only particular foods or substances, or be
intermittent .
In a physiological context, fasting may refer to the
metabolic status of a person who has not eaten overnight,
or to the metabolic state achieved after complete digestion
and absorption of a meal. Several metabolic adjustments
occur during fasting. Some diagnostic tests are used to
determine a fasting state. For example, a person is
assumed to be fasting once 8–12 hours have elapsed since
the last meal. Metabolic changes of the fasting state begin
after absorption of a meal (typically 3–5 hours after eating).
A diagnostic fast refers to prolonged fasting (from 8–72
hours, depending on age) conducted under observation to
facilitate the investigation of a health complication, usually
hypoglycemia. Many people may also fast as part of a
medical procedure or a check-up, such as preceding a
colonoscopy or surgery . Fasting may also be part of a
religious ritual.

Aircraft flew over Synagogue’s building before it collapsed - ACP tells court

The collapse of the Synagogue Church of All Nations
building at Ikotun-Egbe, Lagos, was said to have
occurred after an aircraft flew over the church
- A police officer disclosed this to a Lagos high court
on Friday, May 11
- He testified as a defence witness in the trial of the
registered trustees of the church and four others
An assistant commissioner of police, Mr Alaba
Haruna, on Friday, May 11, told a Lagos high
court that an aircraft flew over Synagogue
Church of All Nations building at Ikotun-Egbe, a
Lagos suburb, just before it collapsed on
September 12, 2014, killing 116 people.
He said one of his patrol teams observed an
aircraft flying low over the church and other
buildings in the premises.
Haruna testified before Justice Lateef Lawal-
Akapo of an Igbosere high court on Lagos Island
as a defence witness in the trial of the registered
trustees of the church and four others.
The church opened its defence in a one-count
charge of building without approval brought
against it by the Lagos state Directorate of Public
Prosecutions (DPP) following the dismissal of its
no-case submission on March 8, 2016.
The other defendants are the two engineers who
built the building: Messrs Oladele Ogundeji and
Akinbela Fatiregun, and their companies,
Hardrock Construction and Engineering Company
and Jandy Trust Ltd.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that
Haruna, area commander of the Eastern Ports
Command, Port Harcourt, Rivers, was the
divisional police officer at Ikotun-Egbe at the
time the building collapsed.
He was led in evidence by the trustees counsel,
Mr Oluseye Diyan.
Haruna said: “On that fateful day on September
12, 2014 at 12.30 p.m., there was a radio
communication from the police control room at
Ikeja that they were receiving calls from the
public of an aircraft flying at low altitude over
the church.
“I was directed by the area command to confirm the
incident and monitor the aircraft’s activities.
“I wanted to go out and direct my men to watch out for the
aircraft when I received another report of an airplane flying
at a very low altitude. I went outside but I couldn’t see it,
by that time it had gone.
“I received a call later from Inspector Lucky Ugbaja,
stationed at the church that one of the church’s buildings
had collapsed.”
According to him, the radio room had earlier
radioed the police airport command to confirm
whether it was carrying out any activity in the
church vicinity.
Haruna said when he arrived at the church’s
premises there was a large crowd and the few
policemen there were trying to manage the
situation.
He said onlookers kept trooping in and the crowd
spilled to the roads outside the church, causing
serious gridlock.
“We were overwhelmed,” Haruna told the judge,
adding that he called for more policemen and
were provided.
According to him, the floors of the collapsed
building were lying one on the other, the church
members and others at the scene were engaged
in rescue operations.
“Those I met there were church worshipers; they were
bringing out so many people from under the rubble. Most of
the victims were alive. Some were injured, some were not.
“Later the Red Cross, Life Savers, National Emergency
Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos state Emergency
Management Agency (LASEMA) arrived and joined us in the
rescue.”
He said the rescue mission lasted about seven
days.
During cross-examination by the prosecutor, Dr
Babajide Martins, Haruna insisted that he could
not recall any instance when LASEMA officials or
the then commissioner for Physical Planning, Mr
Toyin Ayinde, were prevented by the church
members from gaining access to the site of the
collapsed building.
He said: “Apart from the LASEMA GM who said he had a
herculean task passing through the crowd, no other had
problems passing through."
When Martins asked him why he concluded that
the rescuers were church members or
worshipers, Haruna said: “Commonsense suggests
that they were.”
Following the prosecution’s application for an
adjournment, Justice Lawal-Akapo adjourned
further proceedings until June 28.
Meanwhile, adegokblog.com had reported that an
Igbosere high court in Lagos on Thursday, March
8, dismissed the no-case submission filed by the
registered trustees of the Synagogue Church of
All Nations (SCOAN) and the two engineers
involved in six-storey building collapse case. (You can visit adegokblog. Blogspot. Com in you internet or Google )

Nigerian student Lolade Siyonbola stands up to a racist Yale schoolmate

Nigerian student studying in Yale University, Lolade
Siyonbola narrates experience in the hands on a white
student
- Lolade revealed how the white student called the
police on her simply because she was having a nap at
the common room
- According to her, this is the second time the white
student called the police on a black student
A Nigerian Lolade Siyonbola studying at the Ivy
League University has shared a discomforting
news of how a race biased student called the
police on her.
Lolade Siyonbola who is a post graduate student
of African Studies at the university narrated how
she was having a nap at the Yale University's
common room when a White student she
identifies as Sarah Braasch called the campus
Police to come and arrest her.
She explained that the encounter wasn't the first
she has experienced from her co-student Sarah.
She wrote on her Facebook wall that Sarah
Braasch, who is studying Philosophy at PhD
level, once called the Police on one of her friends
a few months earlier.

She said the friend had got lost in her building
during a visit. In her post Lolade mentioned that
Sarah has messed with the wrong person as she
vowed to get it straight with her.
She rose up to the racist Sarah Braasch and told
her matter-of-fact, “I deserve to be here. I pay tuition
like everybody else.”
34-year-old Lolade, added that the police asked
her for identification which she didn't provided
saying to them, “I’m not going to justify my existence
here.”
“I really don’t know if there’s a justification for you
actually being in the building,” she said to the officers,
after establishing her enrollment.
Lolade also unlocked her dormitory room door in
front of the officers to show she lived there after
they insisted on seeing her ID.
“We’re in a Yale building and we need to make sure that
you belong here,” one officer said in the video.
The officers said the encounter lasted longer
than expected because Lolade’s name appeared
differently in the school’s database.
The news of the racial profiling suffered by her
spread throughout the campus and in reaction
the dean of Yale’s Graduate School of Arts and
Sciences, Lynn Cooley, said in an email to
students on Tuesday, 8 May, “Incidents like that of
last night remind us of the continued work needed to make
Yale a truly inclusive place.''

Breakingnews : CAN general secretary Musa Asake dies in Abuja

The general secretary of the Christian Association of
Nigeria (CAN), Musa Asake, has died in Abuja after a
brief illness.
His brother and former member of the House of
Representatives, Jonathan Asake, told the Punch
newspaper that the Musa died on Friday,
morning, May 11.
“Yes, he died this morning, we are right now in the
mortuary. I was with him yesterday (Thursday) in his
house”, he stated.

Musa Asake's death comes about two weeks after
he led a nationwide protest called by CAN
against the killing of Christians by suspected
Fulani herdsmen.
In another report, the Pentecostal Fellowship of
Nigeria (PFN) has declared a one-year prayer
project for peace and harmony in Nigeria
following the alleged killing of citizens by
suspected herdsmen and armed gangs.
President of the PFN, Rev Felix Omobude on
Tuesday, April 24, also called on President
Muhammadu Buhari to deal with the ugly
security situation in the country.
Omobude in a press statement in Benin, decried
the mindless blood-letting in the country and
called on calling on Christians and non-
Christians alike to join in the prayer exercise
holding from May 1, 2018 to April 31 2019.

He also said the continuous incarceration of the
Dapchi school girl, Leah Sharibu, by the Boko
Haram sect was worrisome.
Omobude said Leah should not be made to
continue to suffer inhuman treatment in the
hands of Boko Haram members because of her
refusal to renounce Christianity and accept Islam
as her religion.

They 'looked in love' - Jose Mourinho reacts to Noble and Pogba bust-up

Paul Pogba and Mark Noble were involved in a burst
up in Manchester United clash with West Ham at the
London stadium
- United boss, Jose Mourinho, took a jovial path to the
burst up
- But the pair made up and exchanged jerseys after
final whistle
Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho, has
taken a jovial path to the burst up between Mark
Noble and Paul Pogba saying that they ‘looked in
love.’
The Sun reports that West Ham skipper Noble got
up close and personal with Pogba when the pair
clashed just three minutes from the end of a
match which confirms Manchester United finish
as Premier League runners up.
Noble who was visible angry by a tackle from
Pogba reacted furiously and was lucky not to get
sent off for his wild reaction.

Several other players became involved in the
bust up and West Ham striker Andy Carroll and
Man Utd defender Luke Shaw could still get in
bother with the FA as ref Jon Moss did not
punish them on the night.
Speaking about the incident in his post match
press conference Manchester United boss
Mourinho said: “It was handled well. I was watching the
images and Paul and Noble looked in love. Hugs and kisses
and changing shirts at full-time. It was good.

“It was competitive. We needed a point to finish second,
they didn’t need anything because they did the job last
match at Leicester but they played to win.
Noble charged at the France international after the challenge
(photo: UK Sun)
“The game was competitive. Moss was there, he resolved
the problem in a good way because the game was quite
intense. I was very far from it but when I saw the reaction
of the players, I think that was nothing extraordinary.”
Mourinho made eight changes to his team as he
prepares for the FA Cup final against his old club
Chelsea next Saturday.
Mourinho said: “We tried to organise the team to get
that point but to give opportunities to people who play.
Even ones who will probably play the cup final, to rest for a
couple of weeks is not the best so they need to keep playing.
“Any team that goes to this kind match where you need
something to get some objective, you fight for that. The best
way to fight for the point was to try to win the match and
be safe, which was what we tried.
“But when the game goes to 70, 75 minutes, you don’t win,
you don’t lose, you do the job. You get the point. You finish
second and you can face the game on Sunday with a
different perspective.
“We deserved a point, we deserved second position. When it
is not possible to be champions, second position is the best
available which was what we got.”
But it was happy ending for the 'fighting pair' as
both Noble and Pogba embraced at the final
whistle and swapped shirts to prove there are no
hard feelings.
West Ham boss David Moyes said: “It wasn’t that
type of game. It came out of nowhere. They have played 37
games and the players are ready for a break.
“I thought the players went about it really well. They
wanted to win tonight, it was a big game. If you get a point
against Manchester United at any stage it’s a good point.

Sometimes when you get safe you can sip away from it but
the players were at it all night and stuck to it to get a
thoroughly deserved point.
“The last two games we have got two good clean sheets.
Overall, I am pleased with the players all round. They have
done a good job.”
Adegokblog .com previously reported that Manchester
United on Thursday night, May 10, forced West
Ham United to a goalless draw in their Premier
League match-day 37 tie played at the London
stadium.
United would have themselves to blame for not
getting the maximum three points in this match
as the duo of Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba
missed many chances.
West Ham started the match impressively, and
Manuel Lanzini would have scored the first goal
in the 15th minute when he was set up by Joao
Mario, but he was denied by David De Gea.
