The Nigerian Senate on Thursday, May 10, rushed to
the Court of Appeal against the nullification of the
suspension of one of its members, Ovie Omo-Agege by
the Federal High Court in Abuja just as the lawmaker
reacted to the judgement in his favour.
Vanguard reports that the Senate and its
president, Bukola Saraki, who is the second

Agege representing Delta Central reacted to his
victory at the court describing the judgment of

his suspension and ordered his immediate recall
as victory for democracy.
While reacting to the judgement on Thursday,
May 10, Senator Omo- Agege said it was not a
victory against the Senate but that it was meant
to strengthen the laws of the country.
The statement signed signed by one of his aides,
Prince Efe Duku, read: today’s (May 10)
judgment by Hon Justice Nnamdi Dimgba rightly
nullifying the suspension of the Senator Ovie
Omo-Agege is consistent with our firm position
that the Senate as a foremost national institution
should live consistently by example and set the
pace in legislative best practices.
adegokblog. also reported that the decision of the
Nigerian Senate to suspend Senator Ovie Omo-
Agege for 90 legislative days has been quashed
by a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja , on
