I was denied access to late MKO Abiola - Al-Mustapha

The chief security officer to the late military head of
state, Sani Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustapha speaking on
the death of M.K.O Abiola, acclaimed winner of the
June 12, 1993 election called human rights lawyer,
Femi Falana, a liar.

According to Naija news

NAIJ.com gathered that Al-Mustaphah during a
programme People, Politics and Power on AIT
said leaders of NADECO went to the Presidential
Villa, Abuja to collect millions of dollars, barely
24 hours after Abiola’s death.
He said: “If Abiola was alive, he would have been
one of my witnesses which I know won’t have
happened, we should be looking at the larger
issues. The questions is why should Abiola be
killed and why should they be angry that I’m

asking these questions?
Al-Mustapha alleged that the late MKO Abiola
was killed on July 8, 1998 at Aguda house and
that money withdrawn from the Central Bank of
Nigeria on July 9 in Dollars, Pounds and Naira
was shared delibartely, adding that the money
was delivered straight to the villa.

In 2017, the human rights lawyer called Al-
Mustapha a “pathological liar” for claiming that
he had tapes of how the presumed winner of the
June 12, 1993 presidential election, was
murdered.
Falana said the former CSO was trying to act as
if he was nice to Abiola even when he made sure
the latter was kept in detention.
Falana added that Al-Mustapha was feeling
guilty conscience over the death of the wife of
Abiola, Kudirat following the confessions of
Sergeant Jabila Rogers at the Oputa Panel that he
was ordered by Al-Mustapha to kill her.
