Nigerian pastor arrested for tearing and burning Quran in Kogi

A Nigerian pastor and his accomplice have landed in
trouble after they were reportedly caught destroying
a Quran in Ankpa, Kogi state.
The pastor who is yet-to-be identified and his
accomplice were caught red-handed tearing and
burning the Quran near the town’s central
mosque on Friday, May 8.
Their action made some residents apprehend and
beat them up and they almost got served with
jungle justice, but for the timely arrival of the
police. They were later dragged to the palace of
the King of Ankpa before being transferred to
Lokoja, the state capital.

As at the time of filling this report, the reason for
their action is yet to be ascertained.


In his testimony, the man mentioned that his
father is a district superintendent of a church in
Abuja which name he refused to mention for
security reasons. He also claimed that the former
governor of Ebonyi state, Dr Sam Egwu, is his
uncle.


As seen in the video which circulated on social
media, the man is vast in the Arabic recitations
and is captured bowing down in the video,
saying Allah is the greatest.
