Some members of the All progressives Congress
(APC) have died in an auto crash in Zaria.
The members - three of them - were said to have
died in Zaria on their way to Abuja for the APC
convention on Saturday, June 23.
Premium Times reports that the victims of the
crash includes a councilor representing Diso
ward in Gwale local government area of Kano
state, Abdulwahab Inuwa, and two of his friends,
Abdullahi Idris and Abubakar Diso.
The trio were said to have left Kano early on
Saturday to join other delegates at the
convention in Abuja.
Murtala Lawan, an eye witness said that the
Honda CRV conveying the deceased somersaulted
at Amaryawa village, few kilometres from Zaria.
According to Lawan, bystanders were trying to
rescue the deceased when the car burst into
flames burning the victims who could not be
pulled out of the fire.
Confirming the incident, a brother to
Abdulwahab said the family received the sad
news from a good Samaritan.
He also said his brother just came back from
Islamic Umrah in Saudi Arabia six days ago
before meeting his untimely death.
However, the Chief Imam of Kano, Sani
Zaharaddeen, conducted the funeral prayer for
the deceased at Kano Central Mosque around
4:30 pm on Saturday.
