Man Punches Woman In The Face During Road Rage Incident

A road rage incident between a man and a woman was caught on tape. The video shows an Australian man punching a woman in the face following an altercation on the road.
According to the peron who filmed the incident, it happened at Lake Munmorah in New South Wales, Australia between 1 pm - 1:30 pm on Monday. Witnesses report that the woman was seen throwing things at the man's car from her car. Some said she threw nails. So the man walked up to her and punched her hard in the face.
Police were alerted to the video after it was shared on Facebook and it generated a lot of public interest. Later, the woman took to social media to explain what had happened. She said the man had "tried running us off the road with a five-month old baby in the car". She admitted that she had "thrown nails at his car" and also said, "I smashed his window after he punched me."
The video was viewed by Tuggerah Lakes police and they began investigating the incident. Chief Inspector Col Lott said the level of violence depicted in the footage was totally unacceptable.
"And as I stated, assault of any kind is not acceptable, especially assault of a female. It won't be tolerated," Col Lott added.
Initially, Chief Inspector Lott said a woman who identified herself as the victim in the footage contacted police but has not yet made a complaint or statement. He said that without a complaint, police were not able to press charges. However, on Thursday, Police revealed that they have charged the 21-year-old woman over the road rage incident. The woman attended Wyong Police Station on Thursday where police charged her with malicious damage, being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, intentionally throwing an object at a vehicle and having part of her body outside the car window.
The 41-year-old man was on Wednesday charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The woman was granted conditional bail to appear at Wyong Local Court on September 6.
